We must keep in mind and make sure that when we talk about TRADE, it is understood that it is at least a two ways treet and not only one Highway direct from North to South. In that sense, Trade can generate decent jobs specially if value added goods with comparative advantages are exported. Africa has been undermined in the global market and still experience unfair tarde: that is why jobs are rather been suppressed and lost. Not only raw materials are been unfairly concurrenced (African Cotton), high standards are being imposed on African goods to the point that exported goods are quasi impossible to Europe and/or America even though programs such as AGOA has been offered to Sub Sahara Africa. But some African countries has shown that trade have created thousands of jobs (exple: Losotho, Uganda under AGOA ); but still, there are some strings attached; When the use of the third country raw material provision expires on 2007, job will be lost for sure.
